OCS to Remain in Hybrid Learning - December 13–18

  • Owyhee Combined School will remain in hybrid for this week, December 13–18, 2021. Decisions regarding future weeks will be on a week-to-week basis with the decisions made Friday mornings in consultation with the Shoshone-Paiute Tribal Council and Emergency Operations Center.

          Christmas Candy Grams

          • The junior class is selling candy grams for $1.00 each. Last day to order is Monday,  December 13. We will deliver grams on Tuesday, December 14. Please find a  junior to purchase your candy grams: Xavier, Kailey, Josiah, Jacob, Lenso, Kaden, Misty, Lilli, Mattie, Tziavi, Danina, Royce, Angel, Marina, and Marley.

            Staff Christmas Bake-Off

            • The OHS Student Council is hosting a staff Christmas bake-off on Tuesday, December 14.
              • Rules: must be Christmas themed, no premade items, provide one dozen, and have fun!
              • Judging: must be submitted by December 14 by 11:15 a.m. to Room 8. Entries will be judged according to taste, smell, and aesthetics.
            We had a total of 13 submissions in the Staff Bake Off. Thank you all so much for participating
            • 1st place received a Pendleton purse donated by the Elko Colony Smoke Shop: Mary Paradise
            • 2nd place received a Fiiz Tumbler with several free drink cards donated by Elko Fiiz Drinks: Justin Streeter
            • 3rd place received a $20 gift card and sticker donated by Brie'sta Coffee in Mountain Home: Erika Zundel.

                  Picture Retakes

                  • School picture retakes are scheduled for Tuesday, December 14. The photographers will do retakes for all grades, senior tux and drape, and winter sports.
                  OCS Presents a Night of Holiday Family Health, Fun and Music

                  • Please join us on Thursday, December 16 at 6:00 p.m. in the Kenneth Crawford Gymnasium for games, Christmas carols, books, refreshments, and so much more!

                      FCCLA Raffle

                      • FCCLA will be raffling off a handmade fancy dancer bear. She would make a great Christmas gift! Tickets are $1.00 each or six tickets for $5.00. Tickets can be purchased in the home economics room. The winner will be drawn at the Christmas bazaar on Saturday, December 18.
                      Christmas Bazaar
                      • Get ready for a wonderful Christmas bazaar on Saturday, December 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Kenneth Crawford Gymnasium. Join us for food, gifts, games, and more! This event is open to the community. Tables are $5.00 each. To purchase a table, please contact Mrs. Pamela King (Reed), the FCCLA advisor, at (775) 757-3400 ext. 2304. You may also pay upfront at the event.
                      Updated Game Times: OHS Basketball at Rimrock High School Friday
                      The Owyhee Braves high school basketball teams will travel to Bruneau, ID on Friday, December 17, 2021 to compete against the Rimrock Raiders on their home court.
                      • Game times as follows:
                        • 4:30 p.m. Girls JV – 2 quarters
                        • 5:15 p.m. Boys JV – 2 quarters
                        • 6:20 p.m. Girls Varsity
                        • 7:50 p.m. Boys Varsity
                      Unity Club Christmas Basket Raffle
                      The Unity Club is holding a Christmas Basket Raffle. Tickets are $5.00 per ticket or five tickets for $20.00. Please contact any Unity member or Co-Advisers Riata Manning and April Blackhat  757-2315 ext. 8205 to purchase tickets. 
                      Christmas Break
                      • Students will be release early on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 12:45 p.m. for Christmas break. Students return to school on Monday, January 3. Happy holidays! We look forward to seeing everyone in the new year! 
                      Sign up for Online Driver Education at Great Basin College
                      • Classes begin January 5 and February 9, 2022. Enroll at www.campusce.net/gbcnv or call Continuing Education today at (775) 327-5300. The course fee is $75. This class meets the DMV requirement for 30 hours of driver education required to get your driver's license.
