Huge congratulations to our amazing Cheerleaders for earning 2nd place in the 2024-2025 Winter Season State Academic Team Championships! We’re so proud of your hard work and dedication! 🎉🎉 The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association, the non-profit governing body of high school sports in the Silver State, is proud to present a special award each year to the team with the highest-grade point average in each sport per classification. The NIAA also recognizes those varsity student-athletes who achieved a 4.0 GPA the previous semester by naming them to the All-State Academic Team. The team grade point average is determined by taking the individual unweighted GPAs of varsity team members from last semester and then computing an overall average. The NIAA considers this state academic championship award to certainly be equal to the athletic championship award. As the NIAA’s coaches and administrators always stress, the participants are students first, then athletes.
