At Owyhee CS, we look after each student’s physical and mental well-being while on our campus. Whether you feel unwell or have an accident during sports practice, our nurse, Mrs. Smales, will take good care of every student who walks into her office.

My Family

  • Mother of five

  • Grandmother of eight

  • I come from a long line of addiction and other mental health disorders on both sides of my family, so these areas of health have a special interest to me.

My Geography

  • I was born in Montana but was raised mostly in Alaska. I have lived in Montana; Oregon; Alaska; California; Nevada; and Peru, South America.

My Hobbies

  • I love water! Frozen or unfrozen. Snowboarding is my #1 hobby. I also like to kayak, paddle board, snorkel, ice skate, cross country ski, snow shoe, hike in the mountains, and camp.

My Likes

  • Sweet and sour candy

  • Strawberry rhubarb pie-with lots of fresh whipped cream!

  • My animal friends: seven chickens and two dogs and eventually honey bees, goats, and sheep
