ECSD School Board of Trustees Meeting

The next meeting is November 4, 2025 in Elko. The meetings begin at 5:30 PM local time.

Quiz Bowl

There will be a quiz bowl in the Multipurpose Room at OCS Monday, November 3 at 1 PM. Good luck to all the participants.

Veterans Day

School will not be in session November 11 for the Veterans Day holiday. We will have school Monday, Wednesday and Thursday next week.

Elementary 9-week Academic Awards Assembly

The first quarter (1st 9-weeks) assemblies was on October 22 beginning at 8:30 A.M. Parents and families attended to see their students received various academic, attendance and citizenship awards.

Halloween Carnival

The annual OHS Halloween Carnival was held in the Crawford Gym, sponsored by the Student Leadership Class. Booths were lined up around the gym and students and families enjoyed the festivities.

Halloween Parade

The elementary hallway was very spooky Thursday Oct 30 for the Halloween Parade. Ghouls and goblins had fun "terrorizing" the parade viewers.

Time Change

Time changed on November 2 at 2 AM.

TRIO Program

Students in grades 9-12 are eligible for TRIO. Students may begin the application process toward the end of the 8th grade if interested. If you have any questions, please contact Katie Imholte, ext. 2307 at the school. Katie will be at the school two days a week - scheduled Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

May Students of the Month

Pre K: Tathen Pedroza- Tathen has improved in his penmanship. He is kind and helpful in the classroom.

Kdgn: Bailey - Quiet as a mouse , works hard on her lessons and tries to keep the class on task!

1st: Madalyn Raining Bird- She is quiet and kind. She completes her work and is not afraid to ask for help. She is a good friend to all her peers.

2nd: Peyton Bearing has shown a big improvement in all her assignments.

3rd: Andre Galinkin - He works hard and turns all work in on time. He is always cheerful and helps his classmates.

4th: Lettie Arrive, for being brave and trying something new.

6th: Braydon Thomas always positive

Andy Jim: Troy Thomas - Ready to learn new

Amelia Scissons: Melissa Hall - great attitude, plays hard, alwyas respectful.

Kit Julianto: JamieLee Hernandez and Memphis Dixey

Ryan Carpenter: Monell Malotte

Pamela King: Kyleigh Strawbuck - She works hard and is always willing to help when asked.

Darcy Egan: Kaylee Tobey

Sports

Junior High Basketball team schedules are pending.

Angelina Mason competed in the Cross Country regional finals on October 31. She had a good season and was coached by Gene Blossom, assisted by Alicia Blossom.

OHS Football played their final season game on Friday against Carlin at 12 PM. Senior recognition took place at halftime of the game and five seniors were honored. Congratulations to the players for giving it their all and sticking with it for the entire season.

OHS Volleyball team ended their season in 3rd place in the East 1A Division. They lost to Lund --the eventual league champs. Congratulations to all the teams.

Winter sports will begin next week.
