ECSD School Board of Trustees Meeting
The next meeting is January 20, 2026 in Elko. The meetings begin at 5:30 PM local time.
2nd semester
The 2nd semester began January 6, 2026.
Winter Break
Welcome back to a new year and new semester!
Academic Awards
Academic and attendance awards were presented to students on January 8, 2026.
Winter MAP Assessments
Winter MAP assessments begin this week. Please ensure your child is in school to complete these assessments.
Elementary Spelling Bee
The Owyhee Elementary Spelling Bee is set for January 15, 2026. Top qualifiers are then eligible to compete in the Elko County Spelling Bee in February. Times will be announced.
TRIO Program
Students in grades 9-12 are eligible for TRIO. Students may begin the application process toward the end of the 8th grade if interested. If you have any questions, please contact Katie Imholte, ext. 2307 at the school. Katie will be at the school two days a week - scheduled Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Sports
The Braves basketball teams travel to Eureka on Friday, January 16 for four games and then to Lund on Saturday for another four games. Eureka games start at 2:30 PM PST and Lund games begin at 10:30 AM PST.
Wrestlers travel to Spring Creek to compete in the Kiwanis Invitational Tournament beginning at 3 PM Friday, January 16 and Saturday the 17th.
