Fall Athletic Awards Banquet

Coaches Colene Paradise and Eugene Blossom hosted the Fall High School Sports Awards dinner. Also helping were assistant coaches Lacee Walker, Bud Hanchor and Justin Thorpe.

Festivities began with story and prayer by Delmar Kelly. A spaghetti dinner was served, followed by football awards. Coach Blossom presented team awards, including Norton Cota Memorial Awards. All conference awards were given to Defense First Team Myles Allison; Defense Second Team Noah Johnson; and Honorable Mention went to Hunter Smartt. Blossom told an amusing story, “the best play of the year was when Myles ripped the ball out of the opposing team’s hands and ran it back all the way for a touchdown. Then Myles said he didn’t want to play anymore.”

Kyndra Thomas awarded her cheerleaders with certificates and awards. Thomas was pleased with her team’s performances at the games this past Fall and they were awarded letters, megaphone, bar and star pins depending on the award.

Always with the best stories, volleyball coach Colene Paradise reminisced about the past season and how each player impacted the team. Her freshmen received letters and a volleyball pin. Returning players received various pins, depending on how many years they played. All conference awards were given to First Team Sierra Garity; Second Team Shirlena Roa-Martinez and Cienna Thacker; Honorable Mention went to Aleeyah Knight and Kylie Thomas.

Coach Delmar Kelly spoke about their season and his cross country runner Santino Thomas. Running is a measure of seconds and Santino missed running at State by mere seconds. He is still a champ at the school.

The staff and parents are very proud of our student-athletes and look forward to many more great seasons.
