Six secondary students, along with English teacher Chrystyna Hernandez and other OCS staff attended An Evening with Angeline Boulley at the Egyptian Theater in Boise last week. Boulley is the author of “Firekeeper’s Daughter,” “Warrior Girl Unearthed,” and the upcoming book “Sisters in the Wind.”
In Firekeeper’s Daughter, Boulley referenced an award-winning science project on the health benefits of chokecherries by then-Owyhee student Sky Pete, assisted by paraprofessional Cheryl Hernandez. It was a great honor for Sky and Cheryl to meet Ms. Boulley. Hernandez said Angeline Boulley was very “bubbly” and was happy to meet her and is eager to read or re-read her books.
