Free Parenting Program Coming to ECSD Communities

Elko County School District is partnering with Raising Highly Capable Kids to offer a free, 13-week parenting course in Elko, Jackpot, Owyhee, Wells, and West Wendover.

The course will be taught by our own ECSD school professionals and is open to parents and guardians with children enrolled in ECSD—at no cost.

Dear ECSD Families, Elko County School District is sharing information from the Nevada Department of Agriculture and the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) about Summer EBT, a federal grocery benefit of $120 per eligible child to support families during the summer months. Important Notes: If your child is already eligible through programs like SNAP, TANF, or Medicaid, benefits will be automatically issued to your existing household EBT card. Colonel Isaac (Doctor with the Idaho National Guard) is here this week for sports physicals for students in grades 7-12. Any student wishing to play sports for the school is required to have a physical. Consent forms may be picked up with Colene Paradise. Contact Colene if you have any questions.

OHS Teacher of the Year is Mrs. DeeDee Dann! And there’s more to come! Later this month, we’ll surprise three of these educators with the honor of being named ECSD’s District Teacher of the Year, along with our Elementary and Secondary STEM Teachers of the Year. Thanks for everything you do.

Please return all extra Chromebook and Chromebook chargers to Ms. Andrea Thomas in the Library. Students may use their originally issues Chromebooks and chargers until end of year checkout. All extras must be returned or a fine will be assessed: Chromebook ~ $400 each; Chromebook Charger ~ $25 each.

Upcoming events, we'll do our best to update because at the end of the year events are added or changed.

We have a few dogs running around at the school, getting into trash. Please keep your dogs at home or help us find the owners. Also, NO weapons of any kinds are allowed at school.

Remember to thank your Admin Professionals for all their work. Also, Bus Driver Appreciation was this week--remember to thank your bus drivers.

All students need to register or re-register for school. If you have a student enter kindergarten, there will be a kindergarten registration on April 30 at 5:30 PM in Ms. G's kindergarten room.
